Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays

Thanks to everyone who reads this Shiina Ringo / Tokyo Jihen blog. I hope you all have a great new year and holidays! To finish up 2006, Tokyo Jihen will be performing at COUNTDOWN JAPAN 05/06 at the end of December. We can look forward to the new solo album + single in the first quarter of 2007. I wonder what else will follow for Shiina Ringo? Anyway, here is a picture that I made that pretty much sums up how I feel about the holidays. Merry Christmas!

New Blog Home - Ringoran

That’s right, ringo.blogdrive has gone through a stunning transformation to WordPress. Although WordPress lacks the free CSS modification, it is more reliable than Blogdrive, and has a more esthetic feel to it. ringo.blogdrive was receiving heavy traffic recently, so a switch was needed. Best of all, no more stupid Blogdrive Google ads! We can all cheer on that, hey?

So, what’s with the name? Well after a deeply intense name brainstorm, the idea of making a play on the upcoming movie which Shiina musically directs - called Sakuran - was brought up. What about Ringoran? Incidentally, “ran” means a newspaper or article! How great is that? So basically the translation would be “apple column” - quite fitting, ne?
